January 2018 Print

President's Report

At the Richmond ALA, we are working to make 2018 one of our best years yet!  Take advantage of the informative meetings and networking opportunities we have planned, plus all the other resources that are available through the ALA.  Please visit our website (http://richmondala.org/index.php) to learn more about what the Richmond ALA offers

A few months ago, we announced that we would give away 2 scholarships to the ALA Annual Conference and Expo, but we did even better than that!  At our January member meeting, we drew for 3 scholarships ($2500 each to cover registration, lodging, and travel)!  Lucky winners were:  Mary Fuller (Williams Mullen), Judy Lancaster (Swedish Match), and Maryann Hartzell (Cowan Gates).  Congratulations!

If you weren't one of the winners, please take advantage of the proximity of this year's conference anyway.  The conference is May 3-6 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor, MD.  Early bird registration ends February 5th, so act fast!  Register at:  http://www.alanet.org/events/save-the-date/2018-annual-conference/register.

Don't miss the Virginia Statewide Conference, March 16-17, and free to Richmond ALA members!  Read about it in this newsletter.

I look forward to seeing you often in 2018!

Nancy J. Pugh
