 Corporate Counsel & Area Firms Share Billing & Fee Structure Secrets

 

Join us for a panel discussion on billing and fee structures from the different points of view of corporate counsel eBilling, a large firm pricing department, and a smaller firm.  Panelists are:

Daniel Ronesi is Director of Business of Law Consulting at Aderant.  Daniel is an established thought leader on the business of law who has worked with more than 150 law firms across the globe, ranging from small and mid-size firms to several within the Am Law 20.  He consults with firm leadership on adopting business intelligence solutions, establishing profit reporting methodologies, developing partner compensation systems, instituting pricing programs and overall change management with the goal of helping firms improve matter management, inventory turnover and profitability.  Daniel has been a feature presenter on these topics at numerous partner retreats and industry conferences.  Daniel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Prior to joining Aderant, he worked for Redwood Analytics for more than five years in a strategic consulting and relationship management capacity. 

Ellen Nendorf is a Sales Consultant with Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker (formerly Serengeti Tracker), working with law departments to assess current challenges and potential solutions to allow the department to operate most effectively. Ellen started with Thomson Reuters as an Implementation Client Relationship Manager, consulting on legal department management best practices to meet departmental goals of efficiency and cost savings, and how to use data and analytics to drive decision-making. Leading up to her career with Thomson Reuters, Ellen was a successful practicing attorney in Michigan, specializing in insurance defense litigation. She also has extensive experience within the property & casualty insurance industry. Ellen received her B.A. from Wayne State University and J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.  

Mitch Spradlin is the Senior Pricing Manager at Hunton & Williams.  He has extensive experience in alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), legal project management (LPM), matter budgeting, law firm financial management and financial analysis, and is a catalyst for change within the firm.  He has served in a variety of Finance roles since joining the firm in 1994.

Melanie M. Lee, Esquire is the owner of Lee Law Office. Ms. Lee concentrates her practice in the areas of Trusts & Estates, Estate Administration, and Elder Law. She received her B.A. from Howard University and her law degree from Washington and Lee School of Law. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She is an experienced and well rounded estate planner. Her firm’s philosophy is to help clients create, build and properly transfer wealth. Attorney Lee is also a member of The Virginia State Bar; Virginia Bar Association (Sections on Probate, Trusts & Estates and Real Property), The Hill Tucker Bar Association, and The American Bar Association. Ms. Lee frequently writes and speaks on the importance of Estate Planning and issues concerning pre-death needs and Estate Administration. Both local and national recognition have been added to Lee’s list of accolades for her seminar on strategies to Using Estate Planning to Create Generational Wealth. She is a contributing writer to the new edition of Senior Citizens Handbook and Lawyer’s Weekly. Ms. Lee has taught courses on Estate Planning for the Virginia Society of CPAs, the Old Dominion Bar Association, National Association of Black Accountants, Urban Financial Services Coalition (formerly National Association of Urban Bankers) and the National Association of Press Women.
